Monday, November 21, 2016: A key element in our analysis of the anterior segment of the eye is measuring the central corneal thickness. The cornea is the outermost layer of the eye, plays a key role in healthy vision and its thickness at the center has shown to be a risk factor for glaucoma, specifically, primary open angle glaucoma. Our assessment of the anterior segment utilizes optical coherence tomography (OCT), an imaging modality that uses light waves to capture cross-sectional images of ocular anatomy.
